My passion for photography started in 1978 the old fashioned way - with a manual 35mm film Minolta SRT201 SLR camera and a 50mm lens. My first teacher told me you don't need a zoom lens, that's why you have legs. Ever since then I have captured every moment possible and preserved family and team memories for future generations. Today I am a Nikon DSLR full frame photo-geek with a passion to preserve everything I can. Through photography our future generations will have a stronger connection to their ancestral past, family generations, and themselves.

I joined Eastman Kodak in 1987 as a 35mm Film Photographer and Product Manager. In 1999 I joined the Consumer Digital Group as Sr. Product Manager and later Director Product Management for digital cameras, software, and printers. With this role my digital journey began and thus my transition from analog to digital imaging. I have not looked back since. My first interest is Sports/Action photography but I also love travel, landscapes, nature, sunsets, and spontaneous smiles.

My philosophy is - through photography we seek to capture, not just the activity or event, but the spontaneity, inspiration, desperation, perspiration, tension, anticipation, frustration, contemplation, excitement and all moments of emotion. This is what drives us to tell a story by carrying a camera wherever we go.

My imaging career evolved through the transition from analog (film) to digital to include Medical Imaging from X-ray film to Digital Radiography, as Vice President; Photography from 35mm film to digital SD/MMC; Document Imaging from 16mm to Optical. For the last seven years before retirement my role as General Manager took me into the world of infrared/thermal imaging which is following a similar exponential growth curve and making the optical world we can not see become visible. With some basic variances, the technologies across all areas of imaging are generally the same. Being at the center of the digital transformation has been a fascinating journey that has taken me around the world many times.

During my digital tenure I received the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Product of the Year 2000, 2002, 2003, Popular Science Product of the Year 2004, and PMA/DIMA Best Product of 2003 and in 2017, I received the IDEX Product Innovation Award for Thermal Imaging.

Some of my most memorable experiences have been working with National Geographic, The Disney Group, White House Photographers, Hollywood Production Studios, and many Photo-Journalists around the globe.

Another interest of mine is extending the creative process to develop digital videos of photographs. In 2004, I created the Faces of Geneseo TM
DVD for the Association for Preservation of Geneseo using photos from the 1930's. And each year I create a family video which highlights our year-in-review. Most recently I photograph Youth Hockey, Soccer and other High School Sports for families, schools and Genesee Sun Online News. I also enjoy taking photos of athletes for their families.

Based in Geneseo, New York, my career in imaging enabled me to travel the globe capturing images from all corners of the world. Now retired from corporate life I teach International Business and Global Marketing at State University of New York at Geneseo.

Through photography, the world gets smaller each time we preserve a moment in time.

I hope you enjoy the photos on this site as much as I enjoy capturing our world through imaging.

Keep on capturing...
